Description
Local Cosmos is a non-profit, open-source software project designed to enable institutions and small local groups to develop applications for collecting observation data and promoting taxonomic knowledge. Its goal is to empower conservation organizations to create customized applications and share collected data in a standardized format, including with GBIF. Local Cosmos is currently used by institutions such as the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven, the Naturschutzgesellschaft Schutzstation Wattenmeer e.V., and the Sea Change Project, among others.
